This work is one of four related paintings,  part of a series based on the seasons. The work plays with relationships and juxtapositions of colour, form, texture and layering to achieve complexity and depth. The palette evokes landscape elements and the rich natural textures created by decay and renewal.   Parts of the piece were created by setting up chaotic accidental processes,  in places forms are manipulated more deliberately to achieve intriguing relationships and contrasts.  Although painted on canvas,  layers of metalic paints, glitters and varnishes have been used to achieve a finish like a weathered steel like industrial material.
